Canary Software

Canary Software Limited is a holding company for software intellectual property, either directly or as equity in unlisted companies.

The CEO is Tim Rhodes. Tim read engineering and graduated with Bachelors and Doctoral degrees in 1970, followed by  business school where he gained a Masters degree in 1971.  He is a Chartered Engineer, a Chartered IT Professional and a Member of the British Computer Society. After a short period with an engineering company he was a founder of Coexis Limited in 1973, becoming  Managing Director in 1976, a position he held until his partial retirement in 2006. He retired fully in March 2008.

He has spent the whole of his professional career in the software industry, the last 37 of which have been in the Investment Banking sector,  managing  the conception, creation, marketing  and delivery of applications focusing  on Capital Markets. He has in depth experience in the delivery of mission critical core transaction systems for post execution securities trade settlement, but has also been involved with trading systems (especially arbitrage), mutual fund processing and analytical accounting.

Tim retains an interest in the software industry as a non-executive director of Serisys Solutions Limited, a Hong Kong based financial services company.  He  is active in charity support, latterly with IT4Arts (which provides pro bono support to arts organizations) and  the Industry and Parliament Trust. He is also a moderator for the British Computer Society IT Industry Awards.

Tim is a Freeman of the City of London, and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of  Information Technologists.

His leisure interests are travel, making music, and post 17th century European Art.
